Motorcyclist Killed in GA-400 Crash in Forsyth County
A motorcyclist died Monday morning, January 5, 2026, after being rear-ended on GA-400 southbound and thrown from his vehicle, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m. near the southbound on-ramp from Pilgrim Mill Road. Authorities said a 2017 Toyota Yaris was traveling behind a 2007 Triumph Scrambler motorcycle on the on-ramp when the car struck the motorcycle as both vehicles merged onto GA-400.
The motorcyclist, identified as 54-year-old Cumming resident Toby Gant, was ejected from the motorcycle. After the collision, the Toyota Yaris veered across the southbound lanes and struck a guardrail.
An off-duty emergency medical technician with American Medical Response North Fulton stopped to assist and began providing aid immediately. Despite those efforts, Gant was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
